Blog Entry The Last MughalJan 6, '08 3:43 AM
for everyone

Bahadur Shah Zafar in 1858, just after his show trial in Delhi and before his departure for exile in Rangoon. This is possibly the only photograph ever taken of a Mughal emperor: Zafar, photographed in about 1858 aged 82, as he awaited trial by the British for his part in the Indian Mutiny. From the collection of Thomas George Glover (Bengal Engineers)

Another verse reads:
“

Zafar, no matter how smart and witty one may be, he is not a man
Who in good times forgot God, and who in anger did not fear Him.
    ”

It is a song composed by contemplation,

And published by silence,

And shunned by clamour,

And folded by truth,

And repeated by dreams,

And understood by love,

And hidden by awakening,

And sung by the soul.

for everyone

Long ago in a small, far away village, there was place known as the House of 1000 Mirrors.

A small, happy little dog learned of this place and decided to visit. When he arrived, he bounced happily up the stairs to the doorway of the house.

He looked through the doorway with his ears lifted high and his tail wagging as fast as it could.

To his great surprise, he found himself staring at 1000 other happy little dogs with their tails wagging just as fast as his.

He smiled a great smile, and was answered with 1000 great smiles just as warm and friendly.

As he left the House, he thought to himself, " This is a wonderful place. I will come back and visit it often."

In this same village, another little dog, who was not quite as happy as the first one, decided to visit the house.

He slowly climbed the stairs and hung his head low as he looked into the door. When he saw the 1000 unfriendly looking dogs staring back at him, he growled at them and was horrified to see 1000 little dogs growling back at him.

As he left, he thought to himself, " That is a horrible place, and I will never go back there again."

ALL THE FACES IN THE WORLD ARE MIRRORS.

JUST OBSERVE WHAT KIND OF REFLECTIONS DO YOU SEE IN THE FACES OF THE PEOPLE YOU MEET?

A man was walking down the beach at sunset. As, he walked along, he saw a girl in the distance. He noticed this girl kept leaning down, picking up something and throwing it out into the water, again and again. As, he approached even closer, he noticed that the girl was picking up starfish that had been washed up on the beach. She was throwing them back into the water, one by one.

Puzzled, he approached the girl and said,

"Good Evening. I was wondering what you are doing."

"I'm throwing these starfish back into the ocean. You see, it's low tide and all these starfish have been washed up onto the shore. If, I don't throw them back into the ocean, they'll die up here from lack of oxygen."

"But, there must be thousands of starfish on this beach. You can't possible get to all of them. And, don't you realize this is probably happening on hundreds of beaches all up and down this coast.
Can't you see that you can't possibly make a difference?"

The girl bent down and picked up yet another starfish, and threw it back into the ocean. With a smile she replied, "Made a difference to that one !!!"
